One of the most significant missions of the Center for Educational Research and Development (CRDP) is to conduct basic statistical studies on the various components of the educational system; including the sectors, levels and types of education. The continuity of providing such statistical data and the extraction of indicators from them over the course of almost 30 years constituted a fundamental basis for monitoring the strengths and weaknesses of the educational system, and a starting point for developing future plans aimed at modernizing and activating it. This in turn reflects positively on all educational projects, particularly the workshop of assessing the structure of education and the curriculum as a prelude for their development to better achieve the desired objectives and meet the intended targets.
CRDP is working on annual statistical bulletins which include tables that illustrate:
• The numbers of students in different sectors and their distribution by gender, age, educational stages, educational areas and governorates.
• The numbers of the educational staff in different sectors and their distribution by gender, academic level, age and all Lebanese governorates.
• The numbers of educational institutions in different sectors and their geographical distribution according to the stages of education.
• Some essential analyses to identify the initial characteristics of the educational system in Lebanon.
