Consequently , the Center for Educational Research and Development is looking forward to achieving qualitative educational development that adds a humanitarian touch to education with the aim of raising a citizen who is faithfully committed to national, social, moral, cultural and humanitarian values.
The Center believes that investing in human resources is the best choice. We also believe that effective quality education improves the society and ensures the integration of all those concerned in its activities, each one according to his /her own status and potential.
We are meeting today to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the establishment of the Center for Educational Research and Development and to follow up on a plan we followed not so long ago with our partners at the General Directorate of Education, the SKILD Center and many specialized institutions and that is to launch the book " Educational Integration Strategies for a Better Society”. This book was the result of joined efforts from Biola University in USA ,SKILD Center and Haigazian University. On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to our friend , Dr. Nabil Kosta for his tremendous efforts and passionate dedication to the related educational projects which are contributing to our initiatives in finding out , offering education and following -up on learners whose talents, abilities and difficulties vary but undoubtedly have tremendous capacities.
As a result, the Center for Educational Research and Development , is open to successful academic integration initiatives in the learning areas at the local, regional and global levels. Furthermore we are willing to adopt studies , books and scientific research which are of an added value to inclusion . " Educational Integration Strategies for a Better Society” is one of the best publications that present an approach for educational integration in practice align with the Center for Educational Research and Development’s vision .
Dr. Kosta:
Then the president and founder of the Skild Center Dr. Nabil Kosta delivered a speech in which he said:
Our presence today at the launching of the book "Strategies for Integration into a Better Society" is firstly the result of a humanitarian initiative and secondly as an intellectual initiative that we all started in this beloved country 10 years ago, when we realized the urgent need to integrate students with learning difficulties into tangible reality in Lebanon. We grew and learned together and now we are at the forefront of the Arab intellectual development in the field of educational integration.
What distinguishes this book is that its chapters address the following :
• Modern educational strategies based on scientific references.
• Practical steps to integrate children with learning differences into normal classrooms.
• A realistic case study at the end of each chapter, specially written for our Arab world
• In addition to piloted practical applications.
Then Stephanie Srour from the SKILD Center presented a success story on educational integration . At the end, all attendees and participants gathered for a mocktail to celebrate the event.
