The President of CRDP Dr. Nada Oweijane sponsored the ceremony honoring the teachers who reached the retirement age organized by the Teachers' Gathering in Lebanon, Al Zahrani Branch, on the Teacher's day event.
After the Lebanese national anthem, the President of the Rally in Lebanon Dr. Youssef Kanaan delivered a speech in which he launched a series of educational, trade union and solidarity positions with teachers in all sectors.
He called on the official and private authorities to defend their educational, cultural and national role, and praised the sacrifices of the retired professors, as he likened them to burning candles illuminating the path of a lost road.
After a pause for choir students from the School of Imam Almahdi- Ghazieh, the President of CRDP Dr. Nada Oweijane delivered a speech stating:
If there were a name for the educational path, it would be sacrifice and continuous giving.
If there were a lesson to learn from the people of South Lebanon, it would be patriotism, filled with determination to defend their land, and the ability to rebuild, rejuvenate and prosper, and insistence on education and distinction.
School is one of the most important modes of socialization to the rear of the family; its main roles include:
CRDP seeks to strengthen all the above listed matters and others as well within the official school active system, and promote the performance and development capabilities and skills of teachers, and expand the framework of cooperation with parents and the community, in order to reach sustainable education and preserve our identity and enhance the national affiliation.
Dr. Oweijane also mentioned that we are in the process of preparing a mutual agreement to implement a project that will contribute to the promotion of public education in Bint Jbeil and Jabal Amel, in cooperation with the Union of Municipalities of Bint Jbeil and the Federation of Municipalities of Jabal Amel.
On this occasion, Dr. Oweijane was pleased to honor the teachers who contrived during the war as well as during peace and yet maintained the values; they deserve deification and reverence; wishing all a happy teacher's day.
Dr. Oweijane afterwards distributed the Honorary Recognition Plaque to the honorees.
